Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina began her career with hilarious songs that dealt with sexuality and identity with a boldly comedic perspective before increasing her appeal to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her first musical exposure. She played the trumpet. After that, she took traditional and hip-hop training. As a student, she majored in journalism and women's studies, and was doing Mandarin in Beijing for a time. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. In 2012, her song My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success over the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. Other viral hits included the queef, a body positive song, as well as the winking NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The latter track was linked into another venture Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in the year 2015. Following her success as a musician and an author, she chose to assume the role of actor. The actress has been in films such as Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018, she landed a number of notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's eight or Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
